The present study aimed to analyze the bed occupancy rate scenario resulting from the covid-19 in the state of Ceará, Brazil. This is a descriptive study, analyzing the scenario of the bed occupancy rate resulting from the covid-19 in the state of Ceará, Brazil. It is noteworthy that many of the patients await testing for covid-19. We sought to identify the profile of services available in the capital, Fortaleza. Data collection took place on April 14, 2020, on the IntegraSus and Coe-Covid-19 sites. The update of the epidemiological bulletin of April 14, 2020, presented 2,044 confirmed cases, according to the date of the onset of symptoms; 1,878 new confirmed cases, according to the date of the exam result, 111 deaths, 5.43 lethalities, 62 municipalities with confirmed cases, 11,954 number of exams and 9,242 suspected cases. Other health equipment has high rates of vacancies already in occupation since January, before the arrival of the virus, due to routine demands. The highest incidence of hospitalized patients is male (57.5%) and between both sexes, over 45 years. With the concentration of the number of cases in Fortaleza, 59 hospitalized and 1,794 confirmed cases of the disease, followed by Caucaia (39 cases), Maracanaú (35 cases) and Aquiraz (30 cases). It is possible to conclude a scenario of concern in view of the few available beds, due to a possible collapse with the incidence of the most serious cases of the disease that need adequate support.
ER -
